I went to Lower Canada College for high school. There I had an amazing art teacher who helped me explore different art materials. I learned how to create a 3d structure. It was a mask based on an African culture. I have also discovered the power of coloring pencils. I made a drawing of a Cliff City in Italy with just coloring pencils. When my class had an exhibit in an art gallery, someone bought this drawing of mine. I always thought that working on one painting in a group would be hard because art is very subjective but I discovered that it was not that bad. During high school, I did a project for the school with my two best friends and the teacher. We created 6 feet by 6 feet of artwork to communicate LCC’s slogan. It went very smooth and it was super fun.
My hobbies are watching t.v., listening to Bollywood Music, organizing, painting and drawing. From a young age, I loved drawing and printing. I always find it very relaxing and fun to draw and print. However, I have only worked in a few different art mediums. I have painted with acrylic a lot. Most of my high school's work is done with acrylic paint. I have tried working with watercolor but I am not that great at it. I have also worked with Indian ink and few other inks. However, I mostly like acrylic and pen or pencil. I have also created an artpiece with different coloring pencils.
I applied for Graphic Design because art is fun to create but it is hard to make money from. With Graphic Design, I can not only pursue my passion but also make money from it. This program is a lot of work but the result of each project that I have to create/design is worth all the work.
